Mechanical anchors are also known as sleeve anchors, wedge anchors or expansion anchors. Made from carbon steel or stainless steel, these anchors are designed to bolt or wedge down to hardened concrete or masonry elements.
The anchors, when hammer-driven into the same size cleaned hole as the anchor shank, create a friction value which transfers the load to the anchor keyed or wedged at the bottom of the drilled hole.

Drilled in Anchors or screw anchors are hex head galvanized or carbon steel bolts made for anchoring hardware into concrete, masonry grout or solid brick.
Drilled-In Anchors Provide a permanent or temporary fastening of components securely to concrete, masonry or brick. This is achieved largely due to the manufacturer’s design of the threads which are made for cutting into the smaller predrilled hole.
Check the requirements of the city approved plans, verify brand or manufacturer, hole depth, cleanliness, diameter and torque values. Observation procedures note locations, site images, and author the results in a special inspection report.
